The design process begins by identifying a need or improvement and expanding from there. Starting from a simple sketch, an approved design proceeds to a physical product sample. This sample undergoes testing for functionality, durability, and visual appeal. Approved samples then move on to the manufacturing process, where each product is subjected to a series of quality control standards throughout its production.
NovaSolo Material Selection
All wood materials NovaSolo uses to manufacture its furniture come from the island of Java, Indonesia. In accordance with NovaSolo's ethical sourcing policy, all hardwood materials are certified by SVLK (Sistem Verifikasi Legalitas Kayu). SVLK is an internationally recognized verification system that guarantees legal and sustainable sourcing of timber for the production and export of wood products. The rattan material used to weave NovaSolo chairs and rattan accessories is carefully selected to ensure that the aging process occurs as naturally and cleanly as possible. NovaSolo uses two variants of this renewable resource: kubu rattan, which is thicker, and split rattan, which is thinner and more pliable.
