Scientific studies prove that LightAir IonFlow air purifiers kill viruses
The Karolinska Institute has conducted research studies on the effect of LightAir IonFlow technology on infectious airborne viruses such as influenza, rotavirus, and calicivirus, as well as other airborne microbes.
The seven-year studies prove that the technology both reduces the virus concentration in the air and inactivates 97% of airborne viruses so that they cease to be infectious. Animal experiments were conducted, and without an air purifier, three out of four animals were infected by airborne viruses from already infected animals. With the IonFlow air purifier switched on, the experiments showed that none of the animals were infected.

Do IonFlow air purifiers help against coronavirus?
New test results from the Spanish research institute IrsiCaixa AIDS Research Institute show that LightAir's IonFlow technology inactivates viruses mimicking SARS-CoV-1 and SARS-CoV-2 in droplet form. The new tests measured different versions of engineered viruses – pseudoviruses – that mimic the entry of specific coronaviruses into cells. The conclusion is that IonFlow technology has a clear inhibitory effect on viral entry when viruses are present in droplet form on exposed surfaces. The ultrahigh-density ionization process attacks the virus's protective protein shell and thus neutralizes it, preventing it from attaching to and infecting human cells.
