An electric towel rail heats up by an electric heating element warming a liquid inside the towel rail. Some models are pre-filled with liquid upon delivery, while others are filled with deionized water during installation. When ordering an electric towel rail, an electric heating element must also be selected. Electric heating elements are available for concealed or visible cable connections, as well as in different shapes and colors. There are also some towel rails that are heated with an internal heating wire instead of an electric heating element. In these cases, the towel rail is delivered complete with the heating function, and no selection of an electric heating element is necessary. Examples of such towel rails include Snake, Asket, and Spiro.
