An electric towel warmer gets hot when an electric heater cartridge heats a fluid in the towel warmer. Some models are filled with the fluid upon delivery, while others are filled with deionized water during installation. When ordering an electric towel warmer, an electric heater cartridge must also be selected. Electric heater cartridges are available for concealed or visible cable connections, and in different shapes and colors. There are also some towel warmers that are heated by an internal heating wire instead of an electric heater cartridge. In these cases, the towel warmer is delivered complete with the heating function and no choice of electric heater cartridge needs to be made. Examples of such towel warmers are Snake, Asket, and Spiro.
