The Quadra 50x50x50cm is a square planter made of Corten steel that fits into all types of gardens.
Corten steel is an extremely durable and timeless type of steel, and this planter is made of Class A Corten steel, which is a metal alloy consisting of iron.
Corten steel is strong, ecological, and fully recyclable.
The rusting process of Corten steel often takes more than 1 year, and the final color also varies each time.
This depends on the specific atmosphere and conditions in which the product is located.
The product is delivered in a gray color, and from that moment, the product begins to discolor.
The final color can change from deep orange to dark brown.
The planter includes a drainage hole.
How long does the rusting process take?
- Upon delivery, Geroba products often do not yet have the beautiful, typical orange-brown color.
- The formation of the rust layer begins after 2 to 3 weeks and is only complete after approximately 1.5 years.
- The alternation between wet and dry weather is important for the formation of the protective layer.
- The exact duration largely depends on the weather and the location where you place the product.
Advantages:
- Endless possibilities
- No special maintenance of the planter
- Combination of strength and durability
- Corten steel fits perfectly in both modern and classic gardens
- Ecological as it is fully recyclable
- Class A Corten steel
- UV and frost resistant
Optional:
For those who want to accelerate the rusting process, we have options for that, see below.
Information about oxidizing agents that can be used on Geroba's Corten steel products.
- Rust Accelerator, Spray Bottle 0.5L.
Instructions for use:
- First, thoroughly degrease the Corten steel product.
- Before starting treatment, allow the product to dry well.
- Then apply undiluted Cortensteel Oxidizer to the surface to be treated.
- Allow the agent to work.
Please note:
No product should remain on a flat work surface! (Place the Corten steel at an angle).
After drying, spray again to achieve an even surface.
After sufficient rust formation (after one day), the surface can be thoroughly rinsed (low pressure) to remove residual product.
In case of doubt, always test first on a less visible test area.
As an option, you can also use an oil to treat Corten steel, see below:
- Rust Protection Oil 1L.

- Apply the product to a dry surface.
- Brush off all dirt, loose rust, and lacquer.
- Degrease the surface if necessary.
- Apply Rustfix Oil with a brush or spray gun.

- Use neat - 12 to 24m²/L product, depending on the surface.
Application temperature - Drying time:
- Apply the product when the temperature is at least 10°C.
