Bucarest by Mauro Ferretti is a black armchair with a rounded, padded seat and decorative gold-coloured metal details. The combination of the velvet's deep colour and the shiny base gives it a distinctly glam-inspired look. Its softly curved shape sets Bucarest apart from both sleek lounge chairs and large, fully upholstered armchairs.
A decorative seat that doesn't take over the room. The manufacturer states that the black Bucarest, item 142200000P, measures 76 cm wide, 74 cm deep and 71 cm high. Its relatively compact size makes it an attractive option as an extra seat near the sofa, in a larger bedroom or in its own lounge area. Still, measure the floor space and leave enough room to walk freely in front of the seat, especially if it is to be placed next to a side table.
The materials that give the model its character. Mauro Ferretti's product sheet lists velvet, foam padding, wood and metal for this particular item. The pile of the upholstery may take on different lustres depending on the lighting and the direction of the fibres. The gold-coloured base creates a different look from, for example, wooden legs or black powder-coated metal. No verified fibre composition or specific washing code is provided in the available product sheet.
Match with the Bucarest sofa. VillaHome also offers Bucarest as a black two-seater sofa, item 142200000D. The sofa has the same family name and dark, decorative look but is a separate product with a wider seat. Together, they can create a cohesive seating area; always check the number of items you have added to your shopping cart, as the armchair is sold individually.

Choose the right place for the armchair
Bucarest is 76 cm wide, 74 cm deep and 71 cm high according to Mauro Ferretti's 2026 catalogue for black item 142200000P. It is advisable to mark the armchair's place on the floor and leave space to sit down and stand up. If you want to create a seating area with the Bucarest 2-seater sofa, you also need to plan for the sofa's 127 cm width and free passage between the furniture.
Take care of the black velvet
Dust and vacuum gently with a soft nozzle. The velvet pile can lay differently when the furniture is used, so the colour may appear to change when the light falls from a different direction. Avoid rubbing hard or brushing against the fabric, and try to protect the upholstery from prolonged direct sunlight.
Stains and wet cleaning
In the event of a spill, gently blot up the liquid with a clean, absorbent cloth. As the original document does not specify an approved cleaning code or cleaning product, you should not assume that the upholstery can be machine washed or soaked. Before stain treatment, the supplier's advice should be checked, and new products should be tested on a less visible surface.
Care of the gold-coloured details
Gently wipe visible metal parts with a soft cloth and remove any moisture immediately. Avoid abrasive sponges, strong solvents and cleaning that can affect the surface finish. Lift the armchair when moving it to reduce the risk of scratches on the floor and legs.
