In late 1955, Polyform produced the world's very first inflatable plastic buoy in Ålesund, Norway.
This was the first buoy in a series of buoys that would become the POLYFORM® A-series, and they established the standard for buoy design and quality.
The POLYFORM® A-series is manufactured in eight different sizes.
Each model is designed and molded to provide maximum strength and the easily recognizable blue, rib-reinforced rope holders are solid high-right-thru and made by high-pressure injection molding which ensures the highest breaking strength.

Rope Holders
People associate Polyform's inflatable buoys and fenders with the easily recognizable blue, rib-reinforced rope holders of the A-series.
These are high-pressure injection molded, solid right-through with reinforcing ribs.
Inflation Valves
Polyform's inflatable soft vinyl buoys and fenders have inflation valves that are an integral part of the rope holding through friction welding - no glue is used.
The valve is entirely plastic with no metal components, thus no corrosion problems arise.
It is equipped with a half-turn screw and integrated non-return valve, along with Polyform's unique air filling adapter.
The A-series buoys from size A0 to A5 are equipped with the V-10 valve.
Buoys A6 and A7 are equipped with the larger V-40 valve.
A7 features the Polyform® double valve system for easier deflation.
