Poolex Modular Solar Package 3 kWp – Make your pool energy self-sufficient
What if your pool could generate its own energy? With the Poolex Modular Solar Package 3 kWp, you take a concrete step towards energy self-sufficiency and reduced electricity costs. The system is designed to power pool equipment – pump, heat pump, and salt chlorinator – in pools up to 25 m³.
With an annual production of up to 4,800 kWh, you can save approximately SEK 1,060 per year and achieve payback in less than three years, depending on electricity prices and geographical location.
What's included in the package?
- 6 x bifacial solar panels 500 W (total 3 kWp)
- High-performance inverter (97.6% efficiency)
- AC and DC pre-wired electrical boxes
- Complete roof mounting system (for roof tiles)
- Cabling and safety components
How the system works
The system operates with direct self-consumption. The solar panels produce electricity which is converted via the inverter and used in real-time by the pool's equipment.
Surplus electricity can, after notification, be fed into the grid. Production is highest during the summer – precisely when the pool's energy demand is greatest.
Bifacial solar panels – 22.6% efficiency
The panels are bifacial, meaning they capture light from both the front and back. This results in higher total production, even with reflection from bright roofs or ground surfaces.
- 500 W per panel
- Monocrystalline cells
- IP68 junction box
- System voltage 1500 V DC
- Operating temperature -40°C to +85°C
Inverter – Compact, quiet and intelligent
- Max efficiency: 97.6%
- Sound level: < 20 dB
- IP66 rated
- LAN, WiFi & Bluetooth
- Modbus-RTU / TCP
- Wall-mounted – Plug & Play
Its compact design makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation.
Smart monitoring via app
Via the mobile app you can:
- Monitor energy production in real time
- View savings
- Receive alarms for operational deviations
- Monitor system status remotely

How much you can save – ROI based on Swedish electricity prices
How quickly does a solar package for the pool pay for itself? Below is a realistic calculation based on Swedish electricity prices and normal production for 3 kWp.
Annual electricity production
- Normal production in Sweden: 3,400 – 4,800 kWh/year
- Highest production during the summer – when the pool uses the most energy
Electricity price in Sweden (incl. grid fee, tax & VAT)
- Low scenario: SEK 1.50/kWh
- Normal scenario: SEK 2.00/kWh
- High scenario: SEK 2.50/kWh
Annual savings
| Electricity Price | 3,400 kWh/year | 4,800 kWh/year |
|---|---|---|
| SEK 1.50/kWh | SEK 5,100 | SEK 7,200 |
| SEK 2.00/kWh | SEK 6,800 | SEK 9,600 |
| SEK 2.50/kWh | SEK 8,500 | SEK 12,000 |
Example payback period
If we calculate with an electricity price of SEK 2.00/kWh and a production of 4,000 kWh/year:
- Annual savings: approx. SEK 8,000
- Payback period: approx. 2–4 years (depending on purchase price)
After payback, the system produces essentially free electricity for 20–30 years.
Extra bonus – use surplus electricity in the house
When the pool's equipment does not use all the electricity produced, the surplus can be used for:
- Heat pump
- Electric car charging
- Household electricity
- Spa
This makes the investment even more profitable and increases the degree of energy self-sufficiency in the home.
Why this is especially smart for pool owners
- The pool's high season coincides with the sun's high season
- High self-consumption = maximum savings
- Reduces operating costs for heat pump, circulation, and purification
- Protects against future electricity price increases
A pool that generates its own energy is not only sustainable – it's financially smart.
