Why Full Black?
Full Black is a unique product with unparalleled efficiency, made in Sweden!
Its efficiency is more than 4 times higher compared to solar cells!
It is a much, much better investment than solar cells and pays for itself in just a couple of years.
The payback period for solar cells is approximately 15 years - at best.
Full Black works excellently in freezing temperatures and provides heat even if the temperature drops below minus 20 degrees!
Solar cells have an efficiency of around 15%, meaning they only convert 15% of solar radiation into electricity.
One square meter of solar radiation (on a wall) contains approximately 800 W, which only yields 120 W in electricity/heat via solar cells.
Full Black (outdoor), on the other hand, provides around 500 W of heat under similar conditions.
Heat contribution even in cloudy weather - 10-year transmission warranty - Extremely low weight - easy to move.
Specifications:
- Extremely efficient absorber (compared to a black-painted sheet metal)
- Full Black pays for itself faster than the best heat pump
- More than four times more efficient compared to solar cells
- Very low weight, easy to handle - simple DIY installation
- Annual yield >1000 kWh, in the video, 100 x 75 x 3 cm., 5 kg
- Integrated thermostat handles start/stop
- Works excellently even at colder than 20 below zero (!)
- Adjustable noise level/airflow
- Can be powered by a solar cell if electricity is unavailable
No solar air collector on the market comes close to the high efficiency of Full Black.
At least not at cold outdoor temperatures. It also provides heat even in moderately cloudy weather.
The solar air collector's absorber is a super-selective absorber, which is much more efficient than a blackened sheet metal.
This super absorber traps the radiation and instead converts it into incoming warm air.
The annual yield is just over 1000 kWh and pays for itself in just a couple of years, which is much less compared to an air-source heat pump and solar cells, which in reality have a payback period of at least 15 years.
This solar air collector comes with pre-assembled weather and corrosion-resistant wall mounts, an adjustable power adapter for desired fan speed; 1 meter of air ducting and a built-in thermostat for 25 degrees.
The solar air collector can be mounted vertically or horizontally and only starts when air at 25 degrees or more is blown in.
If there is no electricity, it can be powered by a 20W solar cell, but it is best to power it with a power adapter.
With adapter operation, the annual cost is about 10 SEK.
The solar fan is thus powered either by an adapter and fixed thermostat - or a 20 W (adapted) solar cell, not both.
Full Black differs from other solar air collectors on the market by, among other things, using indoor air.
This naturally provides more efficient heating than heating outdoor air, and it eliminates the risk of blowing in spores and pollen that start to grow in indoor crevices.
By blowing in outdoor air, you also risk overpressure that can cause moisture damage. (All premises therefore have so-called balanced ventilation, neither over- nor under-pressure.)
Using metal air ducts with a large diameter causes cold drafts, so this solar fan has plastic air ducts with a small diameter.
The efficiency of a solar air collector is calculated by the difference in temperature between the outgoing/incoming air, multiplied by the airflow.
Even if the outgoing air in a solar air collector may feel warm, the effect can still be insignificant (the "value" of the heat) - this is because the airflow is very low.
The theoretically highest power a 1 square meter solar air collector can have is the temperature difference x 1.2 (constant) x airflow in liters/second.
If a solar air collector is stated to blow a certain number of liters/second, say 100 cubic meters/hour = 28 liters/second, then the theoretically highest temperature increase/square meter it can provide is 30 degrees: 30 x 1.2 x 28 = approx. 1000 W (At 100% efficiency - which no solar energy product has. Maximum solar radiation/square meter is approx. 1000 W.)
The effect of a solar air collector depends on the airflow.
Stating the airflow for a solar air collector by specifying the fan's capacity is directly misleading.
The capacity stated on the fan label of an axial fan is its "free blow" - i.e., when the fan neither needs to suck nor push.
If an axial fan, for example, is used to suck air through a solar air collector, the airflow drops dramatically.
If the fan's "free blow" is 100 cubic meters/hour, the actual airflow might be 15 cubic meters/hour.
Thus, a solar air collector - if the outdoor temperature is lower than the indoor temperature - can never even come close to a 30-degree temperature increase/square meter if the stated airflow is, for example, 100 cubic meters/hour, which products on the market similar to the Solar Fan claim.
Similarly, similar products to the Solar Fan claim that they heat a certain area/volume - this depends entirely on how the premises are insulated and what is meant by "heating".
Is a half-degree warming "heating"? The annual yield in kWh, however, is relevant information.
How the product performs at sub-zero temperatures, moderate cloudiness, is absolutely crucial for the annual yield.
The video was recorded on 2021-02-12, 14:45 when the outdoor temperature was minus five degrees.
The temperature increase is therefore over 30 degrees, and if it had worked with the indoor air, as it should, the return air would have been 35-40 degrees.
