Messina by House Nordic in light brown is a rounded lounge chair with a swivel base. The light brown polyester upholstery has a distinctly textured surface and offers a different color look than the light gray Messina version, despite having the same overall shape and seat dimensions. The armchair is upholstered all around and can therefore be placed openly in a living room, not just against a wall.
The swivel function in everyday use. With a swivel base, you can direct the seat toward a sofa set, a window, or another part of the room without having to drag the entire armchair across the floor. This makes Messina useful where the seating direction changes during the day. However, check the space around the rounded back: it must be able to swivel without hitting a table, a wall, or another piece of furniture.
How to choose the right proportions. Messina is 85 cm wide, 87 cm deep, and 81 cm high, with a seat height of 42 cm and a seat depth of 57 cm. The seat height helps you determine how easily the chair can be combined with existing furniture, while the seat depth says more about how far back you sit. Compare both with an armchair you already enjoy sitting in—no single shape or material combination can guarantee a certain perceived seating comfort.
Light brown fabric with verified properties. House Nordic specifies an outer fabric of 100% polyester, Martindale 30,000, and a pilling rating of 4–5. The frame contains plywood, and the padding is polyurethane foam with a foam density of 36 kg/m³. This information helps you compare technical material properties, but does not replace regular cleaning or indicate how the chair will suit a particular person.
A different color or texture? This product is Messina in light brown fabric, item 1101114. If you want to compare the look within the same series, Messina in light gray bouclé is available, where the fabric's texture looks different. Light brown Messina weighs 32 kg net and is delivered assembled; therefore, check the transport route. One armchair is included, but no tables or other furniture.

Planning for the swivel function
Messina is 85 cm wide, 87 cm deep and 81 cm high. The seat height is 42 cm and the seat depth 57 cm. Position the chair so that the rounded back can swivel without hitting coffee tables, walls or other furniture. Also check the clearance behind the chair. Compare the dimensions with an armchair you already use if you are looking for a particular seating position.
Care for the light brown fabric
The outer fabric is made of 100% polyester and has a distinctly textured surface. Vacuum carefully with a soft furniture nozzle along the seat, back and seams. Avoid hard brushing or friction that could change the appearance of the upholstery. Do not place the chair in prolonged strong direct sunlight.
In case of spills or stains
Immediately blot up any liquid with a clean, absorbent cloth without rubbing or soaking through the foam padding. If necessary, use a cleaning agent intended for this type of polyester upholstery and test it on a less visible area first. Follow the material's labelling before further cleaning; there is no reason to assume machine washing or removable upholstery.
Base, use and bringing inside
House Nordic states a maximum load of 110 kg and that Messina is delivered assembled. As the chair weighs 32 kg net, you need to check doorways, stairs and elevators against the full dimensions of the furniture. Place it securely on a level floor and use furniture feet that are suitable for the floor. Lift when moving so that the base is not dragged across the floor surface.
Choose between the Messina versions
This item is a light brown Messina with a swivel function. You get a lounge chair; a separate footstool, lighting and side table are not included. The light grey Messina model has a bouclé texture, which gives a different appearance and requires different cleaning considerations. Choose the color and fabric based on the environment where the chair will be placed, and check that the swivel function has enough space.
