Sofia from House Nordic in sand has a low, fully upholstered shape with softly rounded sides. The warm sand tone creates a calm look together with, for example, oak, dark woods and solid-colored textiles. Since the back and sides are also upholstered, the armchair can be placed openly next to the sofa group or as a standalone seat, not just against a wall.
Form and function. Sofia is a wide, low lounge chair for a freestanding seat in the living room or a reading nook. Unlike a chair with an open wooden base, the fully upholstered body creates a more cohesive look. Choose it especially if you like the rounded shape and have space to give it room on the sides.
Compare the seat dimensions. The armchair is 83 cm wide, 76 cm deep and 72 cm high. The seat height is 40 cm, the seat depth 59 cm and the seat width 76 cm according to House Nordic. It is valuable to compare it with an armchair you already use: a low seat and a relatively deep seat do not suit the same sitting position as a higher, more upright chair. Also measure the space in front of the armchair so that you can stand up without ending up too close to a coffee table.
What distinguishes sand from brown. The sand version's outer fabric consists of 84% polyester and 16% cotton. The brown Sofia armchair has a different fabric blend, even though the shape is the same. House Nordic states Martindale 30,000 and a pilling rating of 4–5 for the sand fabric. These are test values for the textile, not a guarantee against stains or a certain feel when sitting.
Practical before purchase. The frame contains plywood, foam and textile, and the armchair weighs 26 kg net. Sofia is delivered assembled, which means it must be able to be carried in as a whole piece of furniture through doors and stairs. One Sofia lounge chair in sand is included; footstool, table and other furniture are purchased separately. If you want to compare color and fabric, you can also see the Sofia lounge chair in brown.

Choose the right seating position and location
Sofia in sand measures W 83 × D 76 × H 72 cm. The seat height is 40 cm, the seat depth 59 cm and the seat width 76 cm. Compare the height and depth especially with an armchair you already use. Mark the furniture's position on the floor and check that there is space to sit down and stand up, and that the passage past any sofa set does not become too narrow.
How to care for sand-colored fabric
The outer fabric is a blend of 84% polyester and 16% cotton. Vacuum carefully with a soft furniture nozzle, also along the seams and where the back and seat meet. Avoid hard brushes and heavy friction that can affect the surface's appearance. The light color requires quick handling in case of spills; vacuuming does not replace stain treatment.
In case of spills or stains
Blot up liquid immediately with a clean, absorbent cloth without rubbing or saturating the foam padding. If necessary, choose only stain removers that are suitable for this specific blend of polyester and cotton, and test on a small, hidden area first. Do not use bleach or unknown solvents. Let the cleaned area dry thoroughly. Machine washing of the upholstery should not be assumed without a special care label.
Delivery and use
House Nordic states that Sofia is delivered fully assembled and weighs 26 kg net. Check doorways, stairs, elevators, and turns along the transport route against the full dimensions of the armchair. Place the chair securely on a level surface, use floor protection suitable for the surface if necessary, and lift when rearranging. Avoid prolonged exposure to strong direct sunlight on the fabric.
What is included and how do the colors differ?
One Sofia lounge chair in sand is included. A separate ottoman, table, and lighting are not included. Sofia is also available in brown, but its outer fabric has a different material composition: sand contains polyester and cotton, brown contains polyester and acrylic. Therefore, do not mix up the care or material information between the items.
