VELUX sun tunnels for pitched roofs are designed to provide natural light in corridors, stairwells, bathrooms, and cupboard spaces under pitched roofs where a VELUX roof window cannot be used.
With VELUX flexible and rigid sun tunnel tubes, installation is flexible. Flexible tubes can be used where the distance between the outer roof and the internal ceiling is too small for a rigid tube. Rigid tubes provide a straight light shaft where the internal ceiling is directly below an external roof window.
A VELUX sun tunnel can be installed in tiled roofs (TWF/TWR) or slate roofs (TLF/TLR). Sun tunnels for pitched roofs can be installed on roofs with a 15–60° pitch.
A VELUX sun tunnel is easy to install, regardless of the roof type. Choose our black polyurethane frame and lead-free lower flashing for pitched roofs.
Flexible tubes or rigid tubes?
Flexible tubes TWF/TLF:
- For tunnel lengths from 0.4 to 2 m between the outer roof and the internal ceiling.
- The two-meter-long, highly reflective, flexible tube has a diameter of 35 cm.
- Easy installation.
- An easy-to-install diffuser comes complete with a frosted polycarbonate insulation frame.
- The roof module has 4 mm tempered glass and a removable sash. The glass has an Easy-to-clean coating on the outside.
Rigid tubes TWR/TLR:
- Recommended for tunnel lengths from 0.9 to 6 m between the outer roof and the internal ceiling.
- The 1.7 m long rigid tube is used when longer lengths are needed in combination with extension tubes ZTR, and when it is important to get enough daylight. It comes with two 45° angles.
- Can be extended to 6 m in length.
- Rigid tubes have a diameter of 35 or 25 cm.
- A highly reflective coating on the inside of the tube provides 98% internal reflection.
- An easy-to-install diffuser comes complete with a frosted polycarbonate insulation frame.
- The roof module has 4 mm tempered glass and a removable sash. The glass has an Easy-to-clean coating on the outside.
