On the Osaka in smoked oak from House Nordic, the wood grain is visible through the table's deeper brown tone. The round top has a soft appearance in its basic configuration, but when the table is extended, the shape becomes elongated and the two differently shaped, ribbed supports under the top become more prominent. The ribs create variations in the dark wood tone as light falls from different directions.
You get two extension tops with the table. One top provides a length of 160 cm, and both together 200 cm, compared to the round base top's 120 cm. This makes a difference when there needs to be room for both more plates and communal serving, while the table can return to its smaller form for everyday use. The top is made of oak veneer and MDF, not solid oak.
The smoke-colored version is an alternative to the series' light natural tone and black finish. Just this Osaka model has two extension tops; other models have a fixed top or can be extended even further with three tops. This includes one table and two extension tops, but no chairs. The table requires assembly, and you also need space to store the extension tops when they are not in use.

Adapt the table to the dining area
This Osaka model converts from a round table to a longer tabletop in two steps. Leave space for chairs and passage even in the longest configuration. Insert and remove the extension panels carefully so that veneers, tabletop edges, and fittings are not damaged. Store the panels in a dry and protected place between uses.
Smoked oak veneer and slats
Clean up spills immediately and wipe the tabletop with a soft, slightly damp cloth, followed by a dry one. Be extra careful around joints and edges. Avoid abrasive cleaning, harsh detergents, and standing moisture. Use coasters for hot and scratching objects. Also dust the vertical slats in the base with a soft brush or cloth.
Assembly and post-check
The table weighs 57.65 kg net and is assembled on site. Protect the panels with a soft surface and get help when handling. House Nordics' manual for items 2203000, 2203001, and 2203002 states that screw connections should be retightened after two weeks and then every three months.
